Clark

With the City of Las Vegas serving as a world-renowned resort & entertainment location, and the County being the most populous county in the state of Nevada, Clark County accounts for approximately 69.7% of the state’s resident population, while accounting for an estimated 12.3% of the state’s rural population. There are five incorporated cities within the county including Boulder City, Henderson, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Mesquite. With a total population of 2,012,175, an estimated 79,454 of those residents, consisting of approximately 30,321 households, reside in the county’s “rural areas”. These rural areas consist of three regions: Boulder City and Southeast Clark County, Mesquite and Northeast Clark County, and the remainder of Clark County that excludes the areas of greater Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas and Paradise. Only those Clark County areas that meet the Nevada Rural Housing Authority (NRHA) rural guidelines (i.e., population less than 150,000) were considered for evaluation. Consequently, this information excludes population and other statistical data pertaining to the greater Las Vegas/Henderson metropolitan area.
